Account Information: Email address, display name, and profile picture.
Usage Data: Pool participation, pick selections, app interaction patterns, and feature usage.
Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and push notification token (with your permission).
We do not collect precise location data, health data, or contacts.
Your information is used to: (a) provide and operate the App, including pool creation, pick submission, and leaderboard calculation; (b) display your profile to pool members; (c) send notifications about pool activity, pick deadlines, and score updates; (d) process in-app purchases and manage subscriptions; (e) improve the App and develop new features; (f) communicate important updates about the service.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Albatross uses the following third-party services:
Firebase (Google) — Authentication, data storage, cloud functions, and file storage.
Apple StoreKit — In-app purchase processing and subscription management. Purchase history and transaction data are handled by Apple per their privacy policy.
DataGolf — Player statistics, strokes gained data, and predictive models.
RapidAPI (Live Golf Data) — Live leaderboards, scorecards, and tournament schedules.
The Odds API — Betting odds from bookmakers for informational display.
Expo — Push notification delivery service.
These services have their own privacy policies governing their collection and use of data. We encourage you to review them.
Your data is stored securely on Google Cloud Platform via Firebase. We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), Firestore security rules that restrict data access to authorized users, and authenticated access controls. While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Subscription and purchase transactions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive transaction confirmations and subscription status but do not have access to your payment method details (credit card numbers, billing address, etc.). Purchase history is stored in your Apple ID account and can be reviewed in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
With your permission, we send push notifications for: pick deadline reminders, score updates, pool invitations, leaderboard changes, and important App updates. You can disable notifications at any time through your device's Settings → Notifications → Albatross.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Pool history, pick selections, and leaderboard data are retained for historical purposes and the integrity of completed pools. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, though anonymized pool data may be retained.
Albatross is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will promptly delete their account and associated data.
You have the right to: (a) access the personal data we hold about you; (b) request correction of inaccurate data; (c) request deletion of your account and associated data; (d) opt out of non-essential communications; (e) export your data in a portable format upon request.

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
